Introduction
Welcome to the very first devlog of "Gamma One"!
Gamma One is a VR game in first person perspective where your mission is to survive as long as possible by eliminating your foes as you traverse the levels in search for life sustaining technologies.
Artstyle
The artstyle of Gamma One has got an intentional retro style to it - let your mind think back to the 1980's. I will utilize pixelated graphics and blocky modelling. One reason for this is that I want the game to be able to run completely smooth on devices with lower specs, such as the Oculus Quest. Another reason is that this is a one man project why I have to think carefully where I put my hours.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Gamma One is based on you exploring the level and eliminating any hostile creatures. There are a number of puzzles that you have to solve on your way forward. As you move about in the world you will be able to upgrade your gear and use your skills to evade and outmanouver any foes.
Development
Throughout the development of the game I intend to discuss various design decisions and technical hurdles through a series of posts and videos. I invite you to help me with the development by following the progress and requesting features as the project progresses.
